How To Exceed In Your Career
Let's face it. You want to move up at your job, right? Who of us would prefer to say in the same rut? Or worse, to move down the corporate ladder? One of the first and easiest ways to exceed in your career is to make sure you have the proper education. If you got your job by knowing someone, then it may be time to take a few night classes to broaden your education in the specific field you work in. Companies today are downsizing rapidly, and the employees who generally get laid off are those with improper or a lack of education. Temp workers make up a large portion of those employed by major companies. You don't want to be one of those statistics. With proper education on your side, start becoming a leader in your current position. Start offering to help others and take some tasks and work off of their plate. Don't assume a leadership role, but give the impression by your work ethic and work abilities that you would be better suited for the company if you were in a higher position. Nothing impresses the boss more than working harder or doing work without being asked to. Finally, one of the most overlooked factors in exceeding in your career is the interview. You thought your interviewing days were over, right? You have a job with the company, so your interviewing skills have probably been tossed to the side. But chances are, if you want a promotion, you are going to have to interview for it, just like you would a new job. However, assuming you have your educational background in shape and you have proven to be an asset to the company in your current position, exceeding in your career should be no problem.
