Creating Effective Sales Presentations
The sales presentation is an event that can prove ones worth as an effective salesperson. Yet so often, a salesperson will make a sales presentation that has a poor flow or improper content in it, causing them to lose the sale. Before you even begin to work on the sale, the best was to create an effective sales presentation is gather information. Take an inventory of the information you will need to start this presentation. By information, we are talking about asking questions like "Who is your target audience?", "What level of detail is appropriate for the client?", and "What should our key message be to the client?". Once these questions are tackled, start focusing on your customer. If a client invites you or your sales reps to their office, you want to be able to tell them how your solution can help them achieve their goals. Think like your customer, and get to know them well before moving on. Effective sales presentations are customized. You don't want to be a sales rep that has a one-size-fits-all sort of sales presentation because not all of your customers are the same. Most clients will be able to tell if they are getting a "canned" presentation, so try to customize your sales presentation to fit their particular company or business. If you use slide shows Or PowerPoint) for your sales presentation, use short, to-the-point bullet points. Try and find a happy medium between brevity and detailed information. Don't bore your customer, but don't dumb them down either. Also keep in mind that people tend to understand pictures faster and easier than words, so use visual stimulants where proper, like charts or graphs. Most importantly, before you take this presentation out into the "field", test the sales presentation, and make revisions where necessary. Get a group of fellow sales reps (Reps with more and reps with less experience than you) and do the presentation for them. Be sure to get feedback and make changes where they feel changes should be made.
